Meet Andy Baumeister

Lampasas Cattle Auction has become our family business and we are committed to treat every consignor with equal respect and ensure that each head sold brings its full value.

I grew up in Illinois with a dream to be an auctioneer.  I sold my first sale at the age of 12.  Being a team roper and auctioneer with ranching aspirations and the possibility of a rodeo career, I made my way to Texas.  In 2007, I made the move from Catlin, Illinois to Priddy, TX.  I began ranching and was able to auctioneer at several different barns.  While working at various sale barns, I came up with the idea of a roping cattle sale and produced my first one in 2012.  The idea took off and grew to the point that I needed a permanent home and we purchased Lampasas Cattle Auction in January of 2019.

My enthusiasm for auctioneering prompted me to compete in the World Livestock Auctioneer Championships and I qualified for the finals in 2020.  Unfortunately, it was postponed due to Covid, so I hope to have the opportunity to compete again in 2021.
